Where it is
The address the group gives is Oaks Park Café, Croydon Lane, Carshalton, Surrey SM7 3BA. Oaks Park sits on the borough’s southern edge, above Carshalton, and its café is the venue for the whole week. There is more on the park and the rest of the borough’s free days out in our things to do in Sutton round-up.
About the group
The group meets every Thursday from 7.30pm at Holmwood Hall, Holmwood Gardens, Wallington SM6 0EU. Its website says the sessions are open to “all skill levels”, with tea and biscuits “provided at small cost”, and that a first visit is free.

According to the group’s own site, membership includes:
- up to six live demonstrations a year by professional artists
- outdoor painting sessions at local spots in south London
- the chance to show work at exhibitions across the borough
Its 2026 to 2027 programme lists demonstrations and practical evenings on Thursdays, 7.30pm to 9.30pm. The group says a few details are still being confirmed, so check the page before going.

What it means for you
- It costs nothing. Entry is free, but the group asks you to reserve a ticket on Eventbrite.
