Carshalton LED dimming firm Zano Controls entered creditors' voluntary liquidation on 4 August. What the official record shows for customers and creditors.

Zano Controls Limited, the LED dimming specialist that trades from Chantry Court on Plumpton Way in Carshalton, has gone into creditors’ voluntary liquidation. The company passed winding-up resolutions on 4 August 2026 and Daniel Taylor of Fortis Insolvency Limited was appointed liquidator the same day, according to notices published in The Gazette on 7 August. The company’s Companies House record now shows its status as in liquidation. Incorporated on 13 January 2010, Zano Controls had traded for sixteen years, registered under the wholesale of electronic and telecommunications equipment.

What the official record shows

A creditors’ voluntary liquidation is started by a company’s own members and creditors rather than by a court. The sequence here was quick: a notice published in The Gazette on 29 July convened a virtual meeting of creditors for 12.30pm on 4 August, and the appointment notice records that the resolutions were passed and the liquidator appointed by members and creditors that day.

The Gazette notices describe the company as an electronics wholesaler and give its principal trading address as Unit 1-2, Chantry Court, Plumpton Way, Carshalton, SM5 2DG, in The Wrythe. Its registered office has moved, as is standard in an insolvency, to the liquidator’s care at an address in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.

Companies House also shows the company’s accounts for the year to 31 July 2025 as overdue, having been due by 31 July 2026, along with a confirmation statement due on 30 June 2026.

Zano Controls made its name in the electrical trade with LED dimmers, selling single-point and multi-point dimming modules, grid and plated units, and larger-load dimming packs. Its own website still lists that range, states that “Zano Controls is moving” and refers to new products to come; as of today it carries no notice of the liquidation. Companies House lists no other company registered under the Zano Controls name.

What it means for you

If the company owes you money, whether you are a supplier, a wholesaler with a credit balance or a customer with an undelivered order, claims go to the liquidator: Fortis Insolvency Limited of 683 to 693 Wilmslow Road, Didsbury, Manchester, with Peter Jones as the named contact on 0161 694 9955, per the Gazette notices.

If you are an electrician or homeowner with Zano dimmers already installed, the products themselves are unaffected, but the official record leaves open who, if anyone, will handle future warranty claims or technical support; that is a question for the liquidator. Anything installed keeps working regardless of the maker’s fate.
