Dutch burger chain Fat Phill's has taken 96-98 High Street. Sutton's food register lists it awaiting first inspection, and the brand publishes hours to 11pm.

A Dutch burger chain has taken a unit on Sutton High Street, and it now appears on two official records.

Fat Phill’s has added a Sutton page to its own website. The page went live on 20 August 2026 and gives the address as 98 High Street, SM1 1LT (Fat Phill’s UK: London Sutton).

Sutton Council’s food register lists the same business at 96 to 98 High Street, SM1 1LT, under the reference 26/00319/COM. It is classed as a restaurant, cafe or canteen (Food Standards Agency register).

What the register tells you

The rating shown is not a score. It reads “Awaiting Inspection”, which is the status a new food business holds between registering with the council and its first visit from an environmental health officer.

That matters for the timing. A food business must register with its local council “at least 28 days before trading”, under the rules set out on GOV.UK. Registration is a legal requirement, not a judgment on the business.

So the record confirms the site and the operator. It does not by itself tell you the doors are open.

What the brand says it will do

The company’s own Sutton page publishes opening hours:

  • Monday and Tuesday: noon to 10pm
  • Wednesday to Saturday: noon to 11pm
  • Sunday: noon to 10pm

Sutton is listed alongside Wood Green in north London and Tooting Market in south London, the brand’s other two UK sites. Its own customer feedback form lists 16 restaurants in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam, Almere, Amersfoort, Arnhem, Den Haag, Eindhoven, Groningen, Hilversum, Hoofddorp, Leiden, Leidschendam, Rotterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht and Zoetermeer (Fat Phill’s experience form).

The menu described on the site is smashed burgers, sandwiches and chicken wings.

The other side of the same week

The arrival lands in the same week as a departure. Bar + Block Steakhouse on St Nicholas Way closes to the public on Thursday 3 September, along with every other Bar + Block in the country, after Whitbread decided to exit its branded restaurants.
